Merry Christmas!

I had stressed and stressed about my Christmas card this year.  Normally I will use a picture that I made in the fall of the kids, but things got crazy busy and I never did get around to making any pictures of them in somewhat matching outfits.  I was ill, mad, disgusted, all of the above about my card.  One night a little dusting of snow fell and I got my camera. turned on the flood lights and snapped a couple of pictures to see how my lighting would be.  It was good!! The kids were in the basement playing, I yelled for them and said to put on  your muck boots, puffy coats and boggins!! They were thinking "Yep Momma has finally lost it!"  I told them come on we are going to play in the snow!!! What I like best about this card is this is THEM...this is US!!! Maddie showing her usual sass in her pink and Carter in his muck boots and camo coat! Our Australian Shepherd Trigger would not leave them alone and I said grab him up and hug him! Picture Perfect!!!

Good Friends and Good Food

My Momma always has a ladies luncheon every year at Christmas.  She loves to entertain and decorate.  Her house is always decorated to the nines at Christmas, a tree in almost every room that is themed.  She has a Snowman tree, Candy tree, Santa tree, the old silver tree, coke tree, kid tree. Shew I am tired just naming them!!!

Anyway, she always puts a huge spread out! From hashbrown casserole, ham rolls, deviled eggs, to red velvet cake!!! Ashlee, Erica, Belinda, Jessica and I totally bombed the lunch on our lunch hour!!!! We went and pigged out!!! I think Belinda asked if my house was decorated like Mom's uhhhh NO!!! I am not that decorative nor do I care to fool with all of it!!!!  And for the record she didn't decorate like this until Susan and I moved out!!!! Here's a few pictures courtesy of ashleenikol!! Our First Christmas Gathering

This past weekend we had our first family gathering.  On my Mom's side we have always got together with one set of cousins for years, well as long as I can remember.  These cousins were like big brothers to me and my sister growing up.  I used to stay the night at their house and they would come to ours to stay over night as kids.  Now we are grown and have kids of our own.  My cousin's wife, my sister and I were all pregnant at the same time, due a week apart.  I had always teased them saying that I was going to have the first baby, and low and behold I did.  I really didn't aim to jinx myself on that one.  You can read about that here and here.  So anyway, I had Carter in May and my cousin's wife had their son in July and 2 days later my sister had my niece.  So Carter is about 9 weeks older than them. 

Carter and his cousin could do some real damage.  I really believe that they could tear down a brick wall, at least that is the conclusion that us mom's have come up with.  But they are some sweet boys at least when they want to be!!!!

My cousin's oldest son wasn't able to come and we missed him this year. First year without him on Christmas.  My kids love their big cousin "C".  One year for Christmas Carter wished for a big brother like C.

Weekend Wrap-up

This weekend has been a good one, busy, but good!!!  On Friday night we laid low, not much going on.  Everyone was just starting to get over the flu so we didn't want to mess with the healing process!  And on Saturday was our little town's Christmas parade!  Jessica and I decided we would ride one of our Rangers in it and let the kids ride.  We rode her and JT's Ranger.  She had it decorated so cute and festive.  It rained all morning and just in time for the parade to start it quit raining!!! Woo Hoo!  The kids loved it and Maddie and Zaylee was waving and saying Merry Christmas to everyone!  Maddie would see one of her classmates and she would get so excited!

Saturday night was Chris's work Christmas party at BrickYard Cafe in Bowling Green.  It was so good. I really wanted to make a picture of my food, but figured they wouldn't understand when I said it was for my blog!! LOL But just trust me it was good, I had Cannelloni Chicken.  The restaurant is an Italian place.  Chris had New York Strip, which he said was very tasty.  The kids stayed all night with Chris' s Aunt and Uncle and they took them to a Fun Center.  This place has bowling, inflatables, black light mini golf, skating rink.  Maddie had never been before and she loved it.  On Sunday that is all she talked about!!!!


We had one of Christmas dinners yesterday, more to come on that one.....

A Random Mess

This post will be exactly what it is titled.... a Random Mess!!! We are allowed to have randomness on occasion, just seems to me I have one every week!!!!



My running Buddies! Jessica, me, Rebecca and Kandis.  This was our last 5k of 2012. It was called the Polar 5k, however you can tell by the way we were dressed it was by far polarish.  I finished in 27:01.  It wasn't my best, and I was pissed that I couldn't get in 2 seconds!! But I got first in my age group so not all bad I guess.  I haven't been running like I should. By next spring I plan to do a 25 minute 5K.

This is at my Mom's and was back in October, but I thought it was a cute picture! The kids are helping Nana make cupcakes. I find it very ironic that Nana never let us make cupcakes and mess in icing when we were little!!!! The jury is still out on that one!

Finally got my trees up!!! Hopefully I will get around to taking some pictures of my Christmas decor this weekend and will be able to post it next week!

Lots of Random

I don't really have a lot going on right now.  In December...shew wee look out Lucy, it is cram packed!!! I have something going on every weekend and at least one event every week, sometimes 2. But I love it and wouldn't have it any other way! I cannot wait for my kids to be out of school!!! I am taking off work the 26th, 27th, 28th of December. So I will be off 10 days in a row!!! I will be CrAzy....and Chris will be off too....be sure to check to the obits we might kill each other!!! LOL

I am almost finished with all my Christmas shopping. I have a few stocking stuffer gifts, candy to pick up, and my Daddy!!! He is the hardest person to buy for!!! He has everything, doesn't need any clothing.  He hunts and fishes but has all the gear to go with it!! What do you get the guy!? Suggestions please!!!!!

I can't wait to put my tree up this weekend!!! I am getting gitty to see all my ornaments!!  I forget from year to year what they all look like!

This weekend is a neighboring county's Christmas parade, and it is the largest parade in KY at night!  My Dad works for Coca-Cola (for 38 years) and always drives a truck in the parade, and so the kids get to ride in it and hand out the little cokes! They love it!

Jingle got all jacked-up on sugar and thought he needed to open all the cabinet doors in the kitchen!!!

Hello My Peeps!

Hello beautiful people! I hope each and every one of you had a very Thankful and Blessed Thanksgiving. I know I sure did.  However, my sister and her family was unable to attend because my niece had strep throat and was running a fever! But she is feeling much better now.  My mom and I did a little Black Friday shopping at Wal-Mart.  We went to a store that is in a smaller town and it wasn't as crazy as some of the larger ones!! I have been hearing stories of some stores having fights and people being arrested!! That is just nuts!!! I am happy to say we didn't get into any fights nor did we get arrested! I did score an Ipad 2!! Woot Woot!!! I am excited, but for some reason I have barely got to use it, I think I know why and their names are Chris, Carter and Maddie! :)

I have got 2 of my Christmas trees up; the ones in Carter and Maddie's room.  They were so excited when I told them we could decorate. Hoping to get my tree up in the living room this weekend.

Also our little elf is back!! Jingle made his grand appearance on Monday he had toilet papered the Christmas trees!!! I will be sure and post all of his mischief he gets himself into!

We also was able to visit the jolly guy himself this weekend!!! The kids put their orders in on what they are wishing for this year!
